TGIFF #015: The Very Best Traders in the World Share This Secret

Forex traders around the world make money every day and these traders have one thing in common – a secret if you like.

Some of the very best traders in the world - hedge fund traders, bank traders, private millionaire traders you will never hear from - all have one thing in common: a secret.

They all do one thing. 

Expert traders do more than follow strict risk management rules; they also concentrate on one trading technique. 

This is the real secret of expert traders:

They focus on a small number of markets, they focus on one trading system, one trading edge and they use this edge over and over. 

Profitable traders trade to make money. If you would like to make money as a trader, do what the experts do, become very good at one trading system. 

Become an expert with a trading system that makes sense to you, then trade that system over and over again until trading becomes boring. 

Profitable trading is boring. 

All the very successful traders do this, every successful trader I know, including myself, do this and that is - you simply must have one thing that you are very good at and every time that one thing shows up on your charts you trade it over and over.

For a lot of traders this will mean stop doing what they are doing and learn one just one trading system until they know it like the back of their hand.

It may be stopping trading on a live account, going back and practicing whatever trading system you choose (I suggest price action on the daily time frame) on a demo account.

Just pick one price action strategy and master it on a demo account until you are convinced you have it down pat. 

If that takes you one month or three months, who cares? 

How long this takes is not important.

What is important is that you have mastered one thing.

Then go and apply that on your live account.

If you do this, 4 things will happen:

1. You have broken the bad trading habits that have kept you from being profitable and replaced them with the one thing every successful trader does.
2. Your trading will be a calm experience as opposed to being on an emotional roller coaster every other week.
3. You get your life back, if you are only looking for one thing to show up on your charts (your trading edge) you do not have to spend countless hours in front of your charts every day. If your edge presents itself, you take the trade. If it doesn't, your trading day is over.
4. Last but definitely not least, you are going to pull more money out of the markets more consistently than you are now.
